Minor League
Our minors were in action against Ballinamore on last Sunday morning with the town team enjoying a comfortable 4-10 to 2-4 victory. There was a very strong wind blowing which favoured Ballinamore in the first half and indeed they took full advantage of it clocking up a lead of 2-8 to 0-2 at half time. In the second half Bornacoola upped their game with the wind and with two goals from Niall O’Connor and Mervyn Howard things were looking a bit better but Ballinamore were always the stronger and replied with two more goals.
Team and scorers were; Harry Comiskey, Sean Ryan, Roy Keenan, Kevin Canning, Damian Moran, Damian McGowan, Niall O’Connor 1-0, Paul Hackett, David Mulligan, Mervyn Howard 1-0, Alan Bohan, Sean McKeon 0-4, Alan Croghan. Subs used were Anthony Mulligan and Darren McGushin.

The Senior player of the year award went to Michael Duignan, with Brian Mallon winning the Intermediate and Sean Ryan the Junior players of the year and Lisa Mc Gowan received the Ladies Award. Club Person of the Year was Noel Mc Closkey, whose immense voluntary contributions over the years were appropriately recognised while there was a special presentation to Tom Duignan who was chairman for the past five years. Our own Declan Bohan was the county board guest on the night. A beautiful buffet was served by the hotel and great entertainment was provided by The Dance Kings. Thanks to all who supported.
