Club Draw
The first Club Draw of the year takes place on Saturday night next in the Copper Still with music on the night as always. All ticket sellers are asked to return their tickets by Friday night to Kevin Mallon, Jackie Conboy or Shane Reynolds.

GOAL Mile
The GOAL mile held at the club grounds on New Year’s Day was another terrific success and subsequent events in Haiti have only served to undermine the importance of GOAL and its work with the underprivileged such as those affected by the earthquake disaster. This year’s GOAL mile raised a total of Eur9,657 and organizer Noel Mahon has been in touch to express his thanks to everyone who was involved. Indeed the membership of the GAA club are very proud of the fundraising work that Noel, a former player of distinction and prominent member, continues to carry out in this respect. Maith thú a Nollaig is lean ort leis an obair.

Training
Training commences on Friday night next in the club grounds at 8.30pm. All players are again reminded that they will not be permitted to play for the club in 2010 unless they have paid their membership fee of Eur30.

The Bornacoola U21 team put in a battling performance in difficult conditions against Drumkeerin in the quarter final of the 13-a-side championship in Drumreilly on Saturday last and were rewarded for their efforts with a nail biting one point victory and a place in the semi-finals. The key score of the game was a goal just before the interval when midfielder Damian Moran followed up on his own shot to find the net and give the Bors a two point lead at half time. Junior C Championship
The third team exited the championship on Sunday last as a physically more imposing Leitrim Gaels proved a bridge too far in the semi-final of the competition, played in Annaduff. The Gaels played with the aid of a decent breeze in the first half and despite a well taken goal midway through, the Bors were very much in contention at half time, just five points in arrears. However, Bornacoola never got going up front in the second half and Leitrim Gaels were worthy 2-11 to 0-7 winners at the full time whistle.
The team on duty was: Dara Gavigan, Tony Bohan, John “Barnes” Shanley, Sean Ryan, Dermot Shanley, Christy Bohan, Kevin Canning, Peter Mallon, Richard Bohan, Biran Mallon, Gerry Gearty, Kevin Mallon, Seoirse Reynolds, Declan Conboy and Alan Bohan. Subs introduced were Jackie Conboy, Damian Mc Gowan and Harry Comiskey.

Shield Play-Off
The Senior team played a heavily understrength Sean O Heslins in the Shield play-off in Cloone on Sunday morning last. Two first half goals from Colm Farrell and Philip Howard left Bornacoola eleven points ahead at the interval and laid the foundations for what was ultimately a comfortable victory on a 2-13 to 1-7 scoreline.
The team on duty was Feargal Mc Gill, Seamus Mallon, Morgan Shanley (0-1), Damian Mc Guinness, John Mc Guinness (0-1), Conor Mc Cauley (0-2), Niall Mc Gowan, Colm Farrell (1-1), Niall O Connor, Declan Shanley (0-2), Sean Mc Keon (0-1), Jonathan Duffy, Trevor Howard, Michael Duignan and Philip Howard (1-4).
