Junior Championship
The Junior team played Annaduff in the quarter final of the championship on Saturday evening last and despite leading for a lot of the game, three goals at vital times for Annaduff ensured their progression to the county semi-final. However, it has been a good year at this level for the Bornacoola boys and there is still all to play for in the league.
The team on Saturday was: Gerry Gearty, Gerald Moffatt, Conor Mc Cauley, John Reynolds, Brendan Duignan, Brian Mallon, Christy Bohan, Richard Bohan, Bobby Shanley, Ollie Vaughan, Niall Mc Gowan, Feargal Howard, Aiden Reilly, John Shanley and Jonathan Duffy. Subs used: Peter Mallon and Brian Reilly

Congratulations
We’d like to extend our congratulations to Junior stalwart Edward Moffat and new wife Geraldine (Wynne) who were married at the weekend. Best wishes from all at the club for long life and happiness together.

Sympathy
Our sympathies are extended to the Derwin family (Clooncolory) on the death of Molly last week. A great character in the area, she moved to Sligo in recent years, but was never forgotten by her many friends and neighbours in Bornacoola. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Minor League Winners
The Minor team, winners of the League title, were recently presented with a set of Polo Shirts to mark their achievements earlier in the year. The shirts were sponsored by Ronnie Duignan (Clo0nturk) and Feargal Mc Gill (Dromod). Our thanks to them for their contribution.

Senior Championship
Two late scores denied us our second victory in the Championship on Saturday evening, but a draw was a fair result in Cloone. John Mc Guinness scored a fine goal to leave Bornacoola ahead at the interval but a second half penalty for St Caillin’s brought them back into the game and ensured the scores were tied at 1-11 each at the final whistle.
We have now qualified for the quarter finals and await the outcome of the Aughawillan/Manorhamilton group to see who our opponents will be.
The team on Saturday was: Feargal Mc Gill, Damian Mc Guinness, Morgan Shanley, Jason Conroy, Daniel Canning, John Mc Guinness (1-0), Shane Conroy, Michael Duignan (0-1), Gary Mc Closkey, Mark Mc Closkey (0-4), Colm Farrell (0-1), Trevor Howard (0-1), Brian Conroy (0-3), David O Connor (0-1) and Seamus Mallon. Sub used Bobby Shanley.

Junior A Championship
An excellent performance from the Junior team on Sunday came up just short against Melvin Gaels and we had to settle for a draw in a game we probably should have won. Two goals for the North Leitrim men proved our undoing, but it was nonetheless a most encouraging performance and a final scoreline of 0-13 to 2-7.
The team on duty was: Gerry Gearty, Gerald Moffatt, Conor Mc Cauley, John Reynolds, Brendan Duignan, Brian Mallon, Jackie Conboy (0-1), Bobby Shanley (0-1), Richard Bohan (0-1), Feargal Howard (0-1), Niall Mc Gowan (0-8), Ollie Vaughan, Seoirse Reynolds (0-1), John Shanley and Aiden Reilly. Subs: Brian Reilly, Christy Bohan, Ray Hanley, John Bohan, Paul Derwin and Kevin Mallon.

U-12 Boys
The U-12 team played their first championship game against Cloone last week. Two points down at half time in a very entertaining game, Bornacoola put in a great second half display to run out winners on a scoreline of 4-7 to 2-5.
The panel on duty was Liam Jones, Ciaran Campbell, Barry Reid, Tara Hackett, Liam Mulligan, Kevin Shanley, Conor Hackett, Ronan Mulligan, Nadine Hackett, Karen Roche, Ian Mulligan, Karl Mallon and Feargal Hackett. Check fixtures section for details of this weeks game.

Girls U-12
The U-12 girls team played their last two games of the competition against Dromahaire on Wednesday and Aughawillan (Saturday). Despite being ahead in both games at half time, we faded in the second half of each game and failed to gain a victory.

Ladies Championship
The ladies team completed their championship schedule with a defeat to Annaduff on Sunday. Well done to all the girls who put in a big effort over the last couple of weeks.

Sympathy
We’d like to extend the sympathies of the Club to the Bohan and Gannon families (Cloontumpher) on the tragic death of Fintan Mc Carthy in China last week. Fintan’s mother is Elizabeth Bohan. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a Anam.

Club Draw
Winners in this month’s club draw held in the Weir Lodge last Saturday night were: EUR100 - Catherine Gilmartin, EUR20 - Mary Reynolds, Mary Mallon, Helen Devine, Martina O Toole and Catherine O Reilly.
