Sympathy:
We would like to extend the sympathy of everyone at the club to
the McGill family on the untimely passing on Sunday evening of
Cormac after a brave battle with illness. Cormac's involvement
with the club stretches back many years at different levels and
has also given great service at county level particularly at
Scór.
As the local correspondent of the Longford Leader and
Leitrim Observer, Cormac gave great coverage to Gaelic football
in Leitrim. A proud Donegal man who never forgot his roots, he
was known as 'The Follower' throughout his native county for his
weekly GAA article in the Donegal Democrat.
Cormac has also bequeathed a rich musical legacy to the area through the school
and his work with the choir. He was also a strong advocate on
the local Tidy Towns committee. Through his involvement with the
GAA and his writing, Cormac is known throughout the country and
his loss is keenly felt by all in Bornacoola and beyond.
Sincere
sympathy is extended to his wife Mary, son Feargal and daughters
Nessa and Ailbhe. Removal is this evening (Wed) at 7 to Annaduff
church and funeral mass on Thursday at 11 o clock. Ar dheis Dé
go raibh a anam.

Under 16 Football Champioship Final:

We played Drumreilly in the 13-aside Under 16 championship Final
on Saturday in Cloone. We played with the aid of a strong breeze
in the first half and lead 1-7 to 1-2 at the break. During the
first half our scores came from Fergal Howard 0-6, Conor
McCawley 0-1 from a 50, and Declan Shanley 1-0.
Drumreilly performed very well in the first half scoring 1-2 against the
breeze leaving them in an excellent position for the second half
when playing with the breeze. Drumreilly opened the second half
with two quick points and looked to have the advantage as the
lads initially struggled against the strong breeze.
However playing their best football of the season the lads put in a
blistering final 20 minutes scoring 2-5 to Drumreillys 1-3.
Declan Shanley and Mervin Howard scored our goals in the second
half.
In the second half all players put their shoulder to the
wheel and this was an excellent team performance to capture the
title.
This marks the end of a wonderful year for the Under 16
team who captured the league earlier in the year. The team and
management would like to thank Derek Hunt of the Copper Still
for the meal after the game and Brian Blake who videoed the
final.
Jackie and Brian would like to take this opportunity to thank
all the players and their parents for the commitment shown since
the team commenced training at the beginning of February this
year. Finally, great credit is due to trainers Brian Mallon and
Jackie Conboy who have put in an enormous amount of work with
these young men. Comhgairdeas oraibh go léir.

Intermediate League

As a consequence of the win by walkover against Mohill on
Sunday, our intermediate team are now due to meet Glencar/Manor

Senior League
In fine conditions in Dromod on Saturday week we played our
third game of phase two of the Senior League against St Marys.
Despite enjoying good possession, we were defeated on a
scoreline of 1-11 to 0-4, St Marys were much sharper in front of
goal and pulled away in the last quarter to run out deserving
winners .
Team and scorers was: Feargal Mc Gill, Damian Mc
Guinness,Seamus Mallon, Shane Conroy, John McGuinness, Jason
Conroy, MJ Winters, Gary McCloskey, Michael Duignan, Mark
McCloskey (0-2), Bobby Shanley (0-1), Jonathan Duffy (0-1),

Brendan Duignan, Daniel Canning Richie Bohan. We play Kiltubrid
away on Saturday evening our last league game.

Race Night
The annual race will be held in the Brandywell on Saturday night
and people are asked to return their race cards to Seamus Mallon
in advance on the big night. As always your support is
appreciated and a good entertaining night is guaranteed.

Connacht club championship
Well done to Kiltubrid on their recent win over
Strandhill/Collera in the Connacht club championship where they
showed great character in a tough game.
