Masonite Senior Championship
Unfortunately County champions Glencar/Manorhamilton proved too strong for Bornacoola in the replay of the County semi-final on Saturday evening last. Despite a strong opening half hour, the Bors found themselves a point down at half time as the North Leitrim men scored a goal with the last action of the half. A Sean Mc Keon goal offered hope midway through the second half but despite a valiant effort, it was Manorhamilton who finished the stronger and held on for a 1-10 to 1-7 victory. Bornacoola team and scorers: Feargal Mc Gill, Damian Mc Guinness, Morgan Shanley, Jason Conroy, John Mc Guinness, Conor Mc Cauley (0-2), Niall O Connor, Michael Duignan (0-1), Colm Farrell, Sean Mc Keon (1-0), David O Connor (0-1), Mark Mc Closkey (0-3), Brian Conroy, Damian Moran, Philip Howard. Subs used Jonathan Duffy, Feargal Howard, and Trevor Howard

Ladies Junior Final
The Ladies team took on Dromahaire in the County Junior final on Sunday afternoon in Leitrim village. It was their second appearance in a final this year but unfortunately the North Leitrim girls proved too strong and ultimately recorded a comfortable victory. However, it has been a season of progress for the girls under their new management of Vinny Canning and Sean Mc Cauley and they will feel they can have a real cut at Championship glory in 2010.
The team on Sunday was: Michelle Reilly, Sara Duffy, Niamh Reynolds, Cora Mc Cauley, Lisa Geelan, Rachel Duignan, Meave Duffy, Jillian Duignan, Charlotte Faughnan, Leonie Duffy, Joanne Mc Gushin, Alison Mc Keon, Fiona Reilly, Kelly Howard, Nadine Hackett. Junior C Championship
The Junior C team got their championship campaign underway with an excellent 0-13 to 1-9 victory over Eslin in Annaduff on Sunday last. In a game played in beautiful sunshine, an Eslin goal in the second half of a tight game really tested the Bornacoola resolve but a late point from Gerry Gearty was enough to secure a great victory.

U-12 Championship
The U-12 team were beaten by Allen Gaels in the Championship on Monday week last.

U-16 Championship
The lads rounded off their 2009 campaign with a defeat to a stronger Annaduff team in the championship with the highlight of the derby game from a Bornacoola perspective being a fine goal from Daniel Farrell. Well done to the lads on an industrious year in 2009 and in particular we would like to thank John Muldowney and Henry Faughnan for their excellent work with the boys throughout the year. Masonite Senior Championship
Bornacoola and Glencar/Manorhamilton played out a thrilling draw in the semi-final of the Masonite Senior Championship in Páirc Seán on Sunday last. Bornacoola were the better team in the first half and five unanswered points before half time left the County Champions trailing by 0-8 to 0-3 at half time.
However, Manor were reinvigorated after half time and a well taken goal midway through the second half set the game up for a tense finale. While both sides had chances to win the game, neither were able to make the decisive breakthrough and the teams had to settle for a 1-6 to 0-9 draw. The replay takes place this Saturday in Carrick at 5.30pm.
Team and Scorers: Feargal Mc Gill, Damian Mc Guinness, Morgan Shanley, Jason Conroy, John Mc Guinness, Conor Mc Cauley, Niall O Connor, Michael Duignan (0-1), Colm Farrell, Sean Mc Keon (0-1), David O Connor, Mark Mc Closkey (0-2), Brian Conroy (0-1), Damian Moran (0-1) and Philip Howard (0-3). Ladies News
The Ladies are in the Junior A Final this Sunday morning at 12noon in Leitrim village. It has been a very productive year for our girls – they qualified for the 9-a-side final against Manorhamilton and while they lost that game, the experience gained will add to their chances when they take on Dromahaire on Sunday. Best of luck to Vinny, Sean and all of the girls on Sunday.

Our thanks to everyone from the club who helped out at the Harvest Festival in Rooskey on Sunday last. We’d also like to congratulate the Bornacoola Community Development Association on once again pulling out all the stops in organising an event of the very highest quality. Despite the inclement weather conditions, it was again an outstanding occasion and something for everyone in the parish to be most proud of.
