Under 16 League
The Under 16 team played their final league game on Tuesday evening last in the 11-a-side league and were defeated by a stronger Aughavas team on a scoreline of 4-09 to 3-04. Team and scorers: Shane Sullivan, Conor McWeeney, Daniel Farrell, Ciaran Campbell, Barry Reid, Roy Keenan (Capt) 1-01, Mark Muldowney 1-0, Kevin Shanley 1-0, Tony Shanley 0-1, Anthony Mulligan (0-1) Conor Hackett (0-1) subs used Ian Mulligan and Liam Mulligan. Thanks to John Muldowney and Henry Faughnan for their continued work with the lads.

Everyone in the club sends their congratulations to Leitrim panellist and Bornacoola player John Mc Guinness who announced his engagement to long time girlfriend Fiona Byrne from Cork at the weekend. Fiona is a huge Cork GAA fan but has become a regular attendee at Bornacoola games over the last number of years. John’s commitment to the club in a lengthy playing career has been exemplary as he regularly travelled back from romantic rendezvous in the Rebel County to pull on the Black and Amber. Long may it continue and our best wishes to you both for long life and happiness together.

A busy week ahead for Bornacoola teams. On Friday, the U-14’s travel to Leitrim Gaels; on Saturday afternoon the Senior team play Mohill at 3.30pm. On Sunday, the Junior A team have a 2pm appointment in Division 3 of the league in Annaduff and on Bank Holiday Monday, it’s the turn of our Junior B’s who play St Mary’s in Division 4.
