U16 League
The U-16 team got their season underway on Saturday morning last when they played Dromahair in Dromod. A terrific first half from the young Bors left them a point up at half time having played against the wind. However, they couldn’t sustain the effort in the second half and Dromahaire grinded out a two point victory – 1-8 to 1-6. Bornacoola scorers were Anthony Mulligan 1-2, Tony Shanley 0-1, Roy Keenan 0-1, Mark Muldowney 0-1 and Kevin Shanley 0-1.

Underage Training
Underage training for all boys and girls starts next Saturday morning at 11am in the park. Anyone who hasn’t paid their registration yet is asked to bring it on the day. This year Ann Marie Boyle will take charge of the underage girls while Peter Mallon and Gerry Boyle will be in charge of the U-10 boys and Kevin Mallon, Niall O Connor and Aiden Reilly will look after the U-12 boys team.

Division 4
Our third team made their debut in the Division 4 league when they played Aughavas away from home on Sunday morning last. Goals from Aidan Reilly and Alan Croghan proved to be the key scores as the Bors delivered an encouraging 2-4 to 1-3 victory. A special word of congratulations to Kevin Canning and Harry Cumiskey who made their adult team debuts and acquitted themselves admirably.

Fixtures
The U-14’s have a bye next weekend, while the Minor team get their season underway with a league game away to Leitrim Gaels at 2pmon Saturday. Check fixtures section of the paper for Bornacoola adult games next weekend.
