Minor League
The Minor team captured the first silverware of the season with an outstanding display of mature football against St Mary’s in Carrick-on-Shannon on Thursday evening last. A terrific first half display, which included a well taken goal by Declan Shanley, sent Bornacoola in at the interval five points to the good, and having withstood intense pressure from the town team in the second half a penalty goal converted by Sean Mc Keon proved to be the decisive score as we held out for a historic victory on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-9.
The team and scorers were: Alan Croghan, Conor Mc Cauley, Sean Ryan, Damian Mc Gowan, Niall O Connor, Paul Hackett, David O Connor (0-7), Fergal Howard (0-2), Mervyn Howard, Sean Mc Keon (1-1), Oliver Vaughan, Declan Shanley (1-2), David Mulligan. Subs; Damian Moran for David Mulligan, Darren Faughnan, Bernard Hackett and Darren Mc Gushin.
Finally, we would like to thank TP Cox and the staff in Coxs Steakhouse for the lovely meal for the team and also for the refreshments for the parents and supporters. Well done to the entire panel that featured throughout the competition and to mentors Jackie Conboy and Brian Mallon on this excellent victory.

Pitch Enclosure
A motion was unanimously passed at a recent club executive meeting to the effect that admission to the dressing room and pitch area for future home games will be limited to players and relevant officials only. We would ask all supporters to co-operate with the club in enforcing this policy which will be effected at Sunday’s home Senior League game against Fenagh and all major games thereafter.

Gaelic Telecom
Noel Mahon has been appointed as the local area rep for Gaelic Telecom. This is an opportunity to raise money for the club by changing your service provider to Gaelic Telecom. Under the scheme, by switching their phone to Gaelic Telecom, club members can save themselves money on line rental and call charges, but more importantly, 15% of the value of their call charges are rebated to their nominated club.
In the last 6 months, Gaelic Telecom have rebated €250,000 to GAA clubs around the country. We recently received a cheque for €280 and as more club members subscribe the club will benefit accordingly. The feedback from those who have switched has been positive so if you are interested in changing your provider or have any questions regarding the scheme we’d ask you to contact Noel at 087 2646931
