The GOAL mile held at the club grounds on New Year’s Day was another terrific success and subsequent events in Haiti have only served to undermine the importance of GOAL and its work with the underprivileged such as those affected by the earthquake disaster. This year’s GOAL mile raised a total of Eur9,657 and organizer Noel Mahon has been in touch to express his thanks to everyone who was involved. Indeed the membership of the GAA club are very proud of the fundraising work that Noel, a former player of distinction and prominent member, continues to carry out in this respect.
