Gaeltacht Scholarships 2009
The Leitrim County Board annually offer a number of Gaeltacht Scholarships to promote the Irish language. If any of our club members are interested in applying, application forms are available from Rúnaí an Chlub Seán Mac Raghnall (087 9751993) or from Irish teachers in the local secondary schools. Completed forms should be returned to Seán O Suilleabháin, Achadh Dearca, Béal an Átha Móir, Co Liatroma before Friday 30 January 2009. You should note that anyone who received a Gaeltacht scholarship from Coiste Chontae Liatroma in previous years is not eligible to apply again and that the scholarship scheme is open to registered and paid-up club members only, both boys and girls. Oral interviews will be conducted in February and there will be twelve scholarships in all, four of which are confined to people who took part in Scór this year.
Youth Membership of €5 per child (maximum of €10 per household) and full adult membership (€10 for non-playing and €30 for playing membership) is now available from Jackie Conboy, Pat Farrell, Patricia Bohan or Shane Reynolds. All those intending to play for the club in 2009, at both adult and underage level, should note that they must have their membership paid before they can play this year. The club are also planning a registration day for all underage players in the coming weeks. Further details to follow.
