News 16 - 07 - 07

Championship
The Senior championship gets underway on Saturday night when we play St Mary’s in Cloone at 7pm. The curtain raiser features our neighbours Annaduff who play Sean O Heslins at 5.15pm

U-12 Final
The U-12 team played magnificently in their county league final against Gortletteragh last week and were extremely unlucky to be caught at the death in a game they led throughout. Nonetheless, it has been a pleasure to note the development of this team over the course of the year and they have improved with every single game since the start of the year.
The panel for the final included: Shane Sullivan, Feargal Hackett, Ciaran Campbell, Sean Muldowney, Liam Mulligan, Nadine Hackett, Josh Francis, Karl Mallon, Kevin Shanley, Ronan Mulligan, Liam Jones and Gearoid Mulligan, Brian Duffy.
Lots to look forward to for the boys later in the summer when they play in the championship and preparations for this will continue under the watchful eyes of Kevin Mallon, Philip Howard,

Senior League
We played Annaduff in the league on Saturday evening last. In a close game, a late free from Michael Duignan earned us a share of the spoils.
The team on duty was: Bobby Shanley, Damian Mc Guinness, Morgan Shanley, Jason Conroy, Daniel Canning, John Mc Guinness (0-2), Conor Mc Cauley, Michael Duignan (0-1), Gary Mc Closkey, Shane Conroy, Colm Farrell, David O Connor, Declan Shanley, Trevor Howard, Mark Mc Closkey (0-3). Sub used: Brian Conroy.

U-16 Training
Training for the U-16’s commences on Tuesday July 24th at 6.30pm in the park.

U-14 Championship
The U-14 team had a good win over Cloone on Friday night last. This Friday they face St Caillins in Dromod.

Minor Championship
The Minor team began their championship campaign when they played Dromahair on Monday night. Next Monday they have a home game against Melvin Gaels.

Wedding
Our congratulations to former player Ronnie Duignan who was married to Fiona Kavanagh (Dublin) in Cloonturk on Thursday last. Ronnie represented Bornacoola at all levels and was also a member of the county U-16 and Minor panels as well as a regular participant in Scór. We would like to wish him and Fiona a very happy life together.
