Senior League
We met Annaduff in the first round of the second series of the league in Dromod on Sunday. An early goal for the visitors set them up for a five point lead midway through the first half. By the halfway stage of the second half, a Bornacoola team missing a number of regulars had managed to pull level but a Ray Cox goal again turned the tide in Annaduff’s favour and they ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-6 to 0-6.
The Bornacoola team was: Feargal Mc Gill, Daniel Canning, Jason Conroy, Seamus Mallon, Richard Bohan, Colm Farrell, Shane Conroy, Michael Duignan, Gary Mc Closkey, Brian Conroy (0-1), Mark Mc Closkey (0-4), David O Connor, Robert Moran, Bobby Shanley and Philip Howard (0-1). Subs used Niall Mc Gowan, Damian Mc Guinness and Dermot Shanley. This Sunday we take to the field against Gortletteragh in Dromod in our second game in the series.

Minor League Semi-final
On Saturday evening last we reached the final of the Minor League with a good win over a strong Fenagh side. Played in terrible weather conditions we played some excellent football in the first half to lead by 2-5 to 0-1 at halftime.
Our two first half goals were scored by David O Connor. Fenagh started the second half strongly but another two Bornacoola goals from Fergal Howard and substitute Sean Mc Keon in the second half finished the game off.
The final score was Bornacoola 4-8 Fenagh 1-3. We are scheduled to play Eslin in the final, please check the fixtures in this paper as this game could be played this weekend. We would appreciate a big Bornacoola support at this game as the boys are aiming for League glory after their Championship win earlier this year.
The team & scorers against Fenagh were: Daragh Gavigan, Niall O Connor, Conor Mc Cauley, Damian Mc Gowan, Feargal Howard (1-2), Jason Conroy, Oliver Vaughan (0-1), David O Connor (2-2), Declan Shanley (0-3). Subs; Sean Mc Keon (1-0), Paul Hackett, Steven Reilly and Paul Mc Gushin.

Race Night
The Annual Race Night will take place this year in the Brandywell on October 29th. Horses and Jockey’s are currently on sale for €10 each from club players.

Best Wishes
We’d like to extend our best wishes to Dermot Shanley who is heading off travelling for the year. Dermot has been one of the club’s most loyal servants over the last number of years. He had a glittering underage career that included a county U21 championship medal and featured regularly at senior level in recent years as well as captaining the Intermediate team in 2005.
No doubt Dermot will return to assist the club in future campaigns, but for the moment we say goodbye to a great servant.
